Yes, by all means! One of the reasons we chose Hood River to tie the knot is because we wanted our friends and family to have a reason to getaway and enjoy the beauty that is Oregon. Check out our Things to Do page for some ideas!
August in Hood River is a busy time for tourists and accommodations are limited, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Most hotels open up for August 2022 bookings as early as October 2021, so pick out a few favorites and give them a call to confirm. Check out our Travel & Accommodations page for more details. Things to note: Hood River hotels do not allow couples to book room blocks for their wedding guests, but we have some of our favorite options listed on our Travel & Accommodations page. You could also stay in White Salmon, a quaint town just across the bridge from Hood River, approximately 15 minutes by car or taxi.
You can fly into Portland International Airport (PDX) and enjoy a 1-hour scenic drive along the Columbia River Gorge. Check out our Travel & Accommodations page for more details.
For those flying in, we highly recommend renting a car to explore the area and get to/from the airport. Things to note: There are no Ubers or Lyfts in Hood River, but check out our Travel & Accommodations page for taxi/pedicab options. We will have shuttles available to transport you safely to/from the wedding ceremony and reception.

Great question! August is the warmest month in Hood River and arguably one of the best times to visit, with an average high-temperature of 78°F and an average low-temperature of 51°F. We know our Southern friends and family will appreciate these pleasant temps! Things to note: It can get chilly as the sun dips down, so light layers are recommended.
