It was the classic "spotted across the room" moment at Jordan's Irish Pub next to the DU campus. Rob was there with a friend trying to "meet nice, smart girls" as he likes to put it, and I was there with a friend paying homage to our old college stomping grounds. I made an obvious point to walk past him multiple times and he came up with an excuse to talk to my friend to see if he could work his way in. It worked... and we haven't looked back!
Seven years worth of memories later and we’ve traveled to Southeast Asia, Hawaii, Mexico, and over 20 US states together. We've packed up our things and moved from Colorado to California not once, but twice. We've seen more musicals than movies. Have traded late nights out for quality nights in. Have had several job changes and career shifts, countless late night and early morning flights to spend every last minute with family and friends, created community across multiple states, and bought our first home. And we couldn't be more appreciative to have shared ALL of that with you!
In true Rob fashion, he had everything planned out to a tee. After flying up to San Francisco to ask the support of my parents, he planned a weekend and moment that was very "us." In the privacy of our own home, with hundreds of pictures clinging to balloons, Rob popped the question on June 9th, 2018. He said some sweet words that I barely remember and we headed off to San Diego for the weekend to celebrate!
