Question

How should I begin planning my trip to Ireland?

Answer

First, determine how long you would like to stay. The ceremony will be at noon on 10/16/24 near the Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland. We are having a small get-together on 10/19 (Saturday) and will be in Cork, Southern Ireland. Then figure out which airport you would like to land at, I would suggest Dublin Airport or Belfast Airport as those have the best direct motorway access to the North Coast. After that, you can look at lodging and determine how far away from Cork, Dublin, or Belfast you would like to be. The length of your commute is up to you. We highly encourage you to treat this as a vacation or a second honeymoon ;) Disclaimer: We would love for you to attend the party but we completely understand if you aren’t able to.

Question

Answer

Two currencies are used. In Northern Ireland they use GPB, British pounds as NI is part of the UK. Once you go into the Republic of Ireland, Dublin or Cork, you will need to use Euro €.

The ceremony will be at the field overlooking Dunluce Castle.

Question

Where can I find cheaper hotels/BnBs/Airbnbs?

Answer

The closer you are to a big city the more expensive rates will be. Try widening your search to surrounding towns and booking a place on the outskirts.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

While it may be easier to rent a car, there are buses and trains to get around Ireland. A valid U.S. driver's license is needed if you are going to rent a car and avoid driving long distances at night as the roads are more narrow.
