FAQs

Question

What do I do if there are problems with my Nigerian clothes?

Answer

Contact your local tailor if minor alterations are required. Some garments may require major alterations and unfortunately may be unwearable. If so, please contact us, so we can refund any amount that you have paid, and we would welcome your attendance in your own formal wear. Please reach out to either Michael, Roberta, Robinson/Felicia Ukavwe, or Jack/Pat Buist if there are any issues. You may also e-mail us at Roberta.Michael.Wedding@gmail.com

Question

Is parking available?

Answer

Yes, both venues have large parking lots. Parking is free.

Question

Will anything be outdoors?

Answer

Both the Nigerian Ceremony and Saturday Wedding are indoors. The Saturday Wedding will be at St. John's Resort Garden Pavilion. The Pavilion walls are retractable glass. We hope to have them open if weather permits.

Question

Will there be a shuttle from the Holiday Inn to the Wedding?

Answer

Yes, a shuttle will be available to bring guests to Saint John's for the 3:00 ceremony on Saturday and back to the Holiday Inn later in the evening.

Question

What is the weather in the area?

Answer

Average temps in Plymouth in October are 59 degrees for the high and 44 degrees for the low; however, Michigan weather is unpredictable, and it can be unseasonably warmer. Check your weather app as the date approaches. Sunset at the time of our wedding will be around 7:00PM. Weather permitting, there are several gardens at Saint John's Resort which will be accessible during the cocktail hour.

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

2:30 arrival should be enough time for you to park and find your way to the Garden Pavilion for our 3:00 wedding. Free parking is easily accessible at Saint John's. The wedding will begin promptly at 3:00.

Question

Will there be a time gap between wedding and reception?

Answer

Immediately following the wedding there will be a cocktail hour when guests are invited to enjoy the gardens with a beverage and hors d'oeuvres as we take a few last-minute photos, greet our guests, and transition to dinner.

Question

Will you be live-streaming your wedding?

Answer

The Friday night Nigerian Ceremony will be live-streamed. The Saturday Wedding will not be live-streamed.

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We love children, but due to space restrictions, we cannot host any children at our wedding. We appreciate your understanding. Children are welcome for the Nigerian Ceremony.

Question

How can I avoid UM football traffic on a Saturday in the Fall?

Answer

Rest assured. We have planned our wedding during an away game. Michigan will conveniently be playing Minnesota in Minneapolis. If you hit UM football traffic, you have driven too far West. The Spartans have a bye week.

Question

Where will updates be posted?

Answer

Please visit our website again for any updates as things continue to develop. We are so excited to see you and celebrate with you!
