Six years ago this August, Braden and I met at a high school football game; he was a sophomore and I was a Junior. After the game, we had gone to a frozen yogurt place called Yogurtini with some friends. Since that night, he had tried endlessly to capture my attention & go on dates with him. His charm eventually reeled me in our love blossomed over many lake and Drive In dates. Once I graduated high school, both of our lives changed and our relationship took a pause(s). He joined the military (Army) and I went off to college and worked full time. During this time, we both went through a lot. We grew as individuals, learned from our mistakes, & learned what we truly value and want in our lives. We never lost touch and he was always by my side and there for me whenever I needed him. Fast forward to today: I’ve finished my undergrad degree and he’s back home from spending two years overseas. The connection and love we have for one another continues to grow each and every day. He once told me a few years back that he would make me his wife one day. I always laughed and joked it off until now. Braden got down on one knee and asked me to be “the greatest love story” as this song could not describe our relationship more perfectly.
