We suggest a black tie/formal dress code. We recommend women wear wedges, block heels, or flats as the venue is outdoors and mostly on grass. Suits are highly recommended for men. Tuxedos are also acceptable. Long dresses are recommended for women.
Middleburg is a former 17th-century rice plantation on the East Branch of the Cooper River surrounded by the Francis Marion National Forest. This National Historic Landmark features the oldest standing home in the Southern United States. With a rich history, the house has survived both the American Revolutionary and Civil Wars, both of which raged on the front doorstep. Carvings in the window and porch bear marks from these wars. Middleburg is composed of 326-acre protected wetlands and hardwood and pine forests. It is located 20 miles from Charleston, SC, and comprises 4 historic structures including the 17th-century main house, the 18th-century Kitchen House, Commissary, and Guest House. The address is 356 Middleburg Lane, Huger, SC 29450.
