This was Cara's favorite activity on the island! You can book a half day trip (either AM or PM) through many dive shops on the island in order to do some snorkeling at both the Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley- I recommend the Blue Heavens dive shop - our guide was Marvin and he was fantastic! They provide you with all your snorkeling equipment and entrance into the park and take you on a tour while snorkeling, educating along the way all about the sea life...fresh fruit and water provided on the boat trip back the Ambergris Caye!
If you are a chocolate aficionado (like myself) you need this class in your life! Learn how chocolate is made from start to finish with the shop owner. Reservations required in advance for the class on their website for a fee, or just stop here and enjoy an amazing french press coffee! It was my favorite coffee of the trip!
This beach will require a golf cart to get to, but it is worth it! Make a day trip and head to the western part of the island for the day! This is a very chill day- visit the slower western side of the island where the water is clear and calm. Rent a paddleboard. Go on a mini bar crawl. Lay in a hammock. My favorite spot to hang out was the Blue Bayou Bar- picnic tables in the clear blue Caribbean waters with someone bringing you cold drinks? Yes, please. Just make sure to leave enough daylight to get back to the east side of the island- its about a 30-40 minute golf cart trip!
Take a day trip by ferry out to this island! Even more slower paced and relaxed than Ambergris Caye, perfect for sipping a beer in a hammock, or take a jump in The Split (the water passageway between the islands). Also, feed the tarpons for a couple of dollars! On the way back to the ferry- stop and have a drink at Margarita Mikes.
Food trucks, Ice Cream Trucks, Bar Trucks. Cornhole tournaments every Sunday. Movie nights on Wednesdays. Live music Fridays and Sundays. They also have a pool with a swim up bar, lots of games, trivia nights...located one mile north of downtown San Pedro on the way to Secret Beach. you will need a golf cart!
A great place to grab some food and drinks right on the water! Go during the day and float in a tube while drinking some Landsharks. Has live music on some nights, great place to hang out!
Good place to grab some food and drinks!
Great place for a dinner!
Want to try an authentic Caribbean dish? Stop here and try all the pupusas!
Can't handle being away from home and miss pizza? Try here!
Great food here! My favorite was breakfast! Try a fry jack with breakfast, you won't regret it!
A nice beach bar to grab some food and drinks!
Great restaurant, my favorite ceviche on the island!
This little cafe near the airport on the island had the best croissant sandwich I've ever had in my life.
Another beach bar to visit!
Want a small, right off the road Jamaican Belize experience? It's literally a grill on the side of the road. Try this place- get the jerk chicken. If you are lucky, you may get a local that plays his guitar and sings for you while you eat there!
You must make a reservation in advance! This is a beach bar that has hermit crab races on Tuesdays at 6pm which was VERY ENTERTAINING! Bet on a crab, give them a name, and hope they win the race! Also has live music several other nights of the week. Located right on the beach and GREAT for some people watching!
Head north on Back Street – until you get to the stop sign. (Hol Chan Marine Reserve Office will be on your right.) Go straight, thru the stop sign – the road is now a dirt road. Just around the bend and… Look for this gate…
