Almost 13 years ago we met at Central Michigan University (fire up Chips!) while Steph started her final year in college and Jon started his junior year. Although we caught each other’s eyes pretty quickly, we were too shy and didn’t really chat much until Scott’s birthday party. With some loving and very persistent pushes from our friends, we started hanging out and never stopped. From the very start we’ve always felt like home to each other. 13 years ago we started the rest of our lives in Mount Pleasant.

On July 17, 2023 we went out to eat at Grand Aztecas to celebrate a big job Jon finished with his painting company. Little did Steph know, Jon and Eli were up to something. After dinner they headed to a nearby park. Eli played for a little bit and we went on a walk back deeper into the park. We stopped by a little spot by the river and Jon got down on one knee. Steph was so shocked she didn’t say yes immediately, but the answer was and always will be YES! Jon planned so well he had our good friend Christina ready to snap some photos, and Eli was able to be a part of such a big moment for his parents. Shortly after the moment settled, Batman (or a teenager dressed as one) across the river shouted “Congratulations!” and the moment was complete. It’s been a long time coming and our foundation is built. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
