Robert and Candace originally met in 2010 while working as Admissions Advisors for an online university. They would often casually speak to each other as they shared mutual acquittances, but they ended up being genuinely platonic friends. Fast forward to 2020, where they believe the pandemic reconnected them. It was during one of their random "checking in" on each other, when Candace attempted to give Robert some advice to win over the heart of someone he was dating at the time. Candace encouraged Robert to buy some roses and some tips to help him get closer to the young lady, but clearly God had a different plan in mind. To no avail, Robert was curious to what was going on in Candace's love life. Similar to Robert, Candace felt the dating scene was a scary sight. It was during their long conversations; they realized an interest peaked on both their sides. They started to have discussions on exiting the "friend zone" and giving love a shot! They decided to make their relationship official in 2020 and Robert proposed September 2022. They have been inseparable since.
