Like most love stories, this one begins at an Olive Garden when Claire and Brandon were both on dates with other people. The salad and breadsticks weren't the only thing unlimited that fateful evening; there was also unlimited room in their hearts. For each other. And Olive Garden. Claire pursued Brandon for much of the next year, and like with literally everything else not related to basketball, Brandon did not notice. Eventually, Brandon did make the first move...by saying "yes" after Claire asked him to go to her formal. Before formal they had Crunchwraps from Taco Bell. Claire paid. Brandon knew he'd never have to accept a first date invitation again. Their new relationship bliss was interrupted two months later when Brandon selfishly decided to graduate college after only five years and move back to Colorado. Brandon eventually moved back to North Carolina without a job a few months later...but why? The courtship was beautiful. Claire pretended to like basketball. Brandon pretended like he was going to use his business degree. Eventually, once they stopped lying to each other, they actually liked the real versions of each other also. Claire still doesn't think that basketball shorts are appropriate wedding attire and Brandon is grateful that he is the only non-fancy thing that Claire loves. Finally, after a few years of domestic bliss at their 2-bedroom chic bungalow and zero questions from anyone at all about when it would happen, Brandon finally made Claire the happiest woman in the world when they adopted their beloved Ruzar on January 24, 2018. The three of them have been incredibly happy in their loving family. Oh yeah, on a late summer (some people/calendars call it fall) day in 2017 Brandon proposed. Claire said yes and sobbed with joy.
