Ferry Ride to San Francisco
Take the ferry from the terminal right next door to the Waterfront Hotel. The ferry leaves about every hour, takes ~25 minutes and costs ~$5.00. It’s a fun trip that drops you off near the start of a cable car line, so you can explore San Francisco.

Stroll the Sunday Farmer's Market in Jack London Square. Local produce, food, and craft products 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sundays.
East Bay Regional Parks
Explore the regional parks around Oakland. With 73 parks, 1,250 miles of trails and 55 miles of shoreline, the East Bay Regional Park District offers opportunities for hikers and runners of of all levels to explore and enjoy. Carly has many happy memories hiking around Oakland when she lived there, especially in Redwood Regional Park and the Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve.
Oakland First Fridays
Oakland First Fridays is an art and community event on the first Friday of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Telegraph Avenue from West Grand to 27th Street. Featuring galleries, artist collectives, street artists, local culinary artisans, performers, musicians, dancers, DJ’s, and poets.
Oakland Museum of California
Explore the museum and stay for dinner and entertainment at the museum's weekly Off the Grid food truck event. Every Friday at 5 pm featuring 8 food trucks, lawn and table games, live music, and rotating Museum programming, free with a Museum ticket.
Chabot Space & Science Center
Intriguing hands-on exhibits, a planetarium, three telescopes in a park setting. Open 10-5 Wednesday - Sunday with free telescope viewing from their Telescope Plaza on Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30-10:30 PM (if the skies are clear). It is magical!
Oakland Zoo
