A Jones love story!

When Robbin started for the State of Michigan in 2017, she wasn’t thinking about love. She was focused on remembering names, being safe considering it was a psychiatric hospital, and not spilling her coffee. She was new to the field of work—first big girl job, wide-eyed, and ready to take on the world. Jason had just started working there in 2018. He was quiet, and sharp. He wasn’t the loudest in the room, but everyone respected and loved him. He kept to himself mostly, except for the occasional joke or comment that made people laugh harder than they should have. Their worlds collided—literally—during a hand off report of a patient no one wanted to work with but the two of them. Robbin was getting the patient ready for the oncoming shift. The patient was being loose and silly while attempting to run down the hallway. Jason, watching from a few steps away, finally stepped in and said to the patient “man get ready so we can go outside”. That was the beginning! What followed were stolen conversations in the break room, Robbin picking up additional shifts to spend time with Jason; late nights when work bled into laughter and stories. Robbin admired Jason’s quiet brilliance. Jason was drawn to Robbin’s fire—her passion, her optimism, and her confidence. They didn’t date right away. For a while, it was just glances, shy smiles, and the occasional “if you were mine”. But one day in July, after a long week, Chris (Jason's cousin) invited Robbin to his birthday party. At first Robbin decided not to go but when she found out Jason would be there she said yes. The birthday party turned into Jason attending a tailgate party with Robbin and her family. Dinner turned into movie nights, movie nights turned into weekend trips, and before long, Jason knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Robbin. In February, Jason threw Robbin a surprise graduation party for completing nursing school. What Robbin thought was a celebratory toast was a proposal. It was the perfect ending to one chapter—and the start of their greatest project yet.
