Our love story started with road work, grilled cheese, and a whole lot of flirting. We met at the restaurant where I worked, and Robbie was part of the crew redoing the road right in front of it. Somehow, every single day, he needed to come inside and order the exact same thing: grilled cheese, fries, and a Coke or Sprite. No menu exploration. No surprises. Just commitment. Along with his daily order came daily flirting—and after months of me making him work for it, he finally asked me out. Our first date was at Texas Roadhouse, and little did I know that night would completely change my life. We spent hours talking, laughing, and then somehow ended up on a 3 a.m. drive screaming Taylor Swift at the top of our lungs while bonding over our mutual love for cars and trucks. We both had sick Chevys, so naturally… we were that couple. From that point on, Robbie became my rock. From the morning we found out we were pregnant to pushing each other to get our diplomas and build a life we could be proud of, we’ve always shown up for one another. Watching your best friend become an incredible dad to our daughter, Braelynn, is a core memory I’ll carry forever. Five years later, he’s still my rock—just with a little more chaos, a lot more love, and one amazing little girl in the middle of it all. The proposal happened on December 13th—and in true us fashion, it happened in front of a Chevy truck. I always told Robbie that if he ever planned to propose, he better be really good at hiding it—because I’m the planner in the relationship and I always know. With the help of his secret keeper Krystal, he somehow pulled it off. Even though I had a pit in my stomach all day and knew something might happen, I instantly cried the second he asked. And of course, my answer was yes. What started with grilled cheese and construction work turned into the love of our lives, our family, and our forever—and we can’t wait to celebrate it with all of you.
