FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lindsay Hooker and Robbie Christian
This was the last photo we took together before we broke Lindsay's IT band hiking into the Grand Canyon! We plan on not repeating that for the Sunday hike.
Question

Why did you send me a postcard from somewhere in Oregon as an invitation?

Answer

Because it felt way more like "us" than anything fancy and official! Lindsay has been collecting postcards since the early '90s and we put her extensive collection to good use for our wedding invitations.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

There isn't one! Wear what makes sense for the weather, what makes you feel confident, and what you're comfortable in. You will be in photos, so as long as you're good existing in the photos from these events in what you're wearing, it's the right thing to wear.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Sure! If you want to bring your kids, go ahead and bring them. Fair warning though, there aren't many people in the guest list with children. As long as your kids are okay being grossly outnumbered by adults, we're happy to have them join us!

Question

Who's your best man/maid of honor?

Answer

We decided not to do a wedding party! We decided to not do a lot of "traditional wedding things." We will be doing cake though... Regular and gluten-free!

Question

I'm coming in from out of town, where should I stay?

Answer

We have lots of ideas in mind but the answer depends! We've reserved a few campsites for Friday night in case anyone wants to camp out. There isn't really a bad place in the area to stay, but we recommend staying in Oregon so you don't have to worry about traffic crossing the Columbia.

Question

Wait, you've reserved campsites for us?

Answer

Yes! We've reserved several campsites at Oxbow Regional Park near Gresham, OR for Friday night. We also have tents and all sorts of camping equipment if you'd like to borrow! We won't be staying the night there, but it's a beautiful place to camp -- deep in the woods and right by the Sandy river. Let us know if you'd like to snag one of the sites!

Question

Where's the hike on Sunday going to be?

Answer

Great question! We haven't decided yet, but we have a few favorites in mind. If most of the people attending the hike can really only do a stroll through the woods on a mostly flat path, then that's what we'll aim for. If the crew is feeling a little more adventurous, we may pivot to something more scenic with some views of the gorge. If you have suggestions, please text them to us!

Question

I want to come to the hike but I'm worried I might get there too late/have to leave too early!

Answer

Just let us know if you want to come but have schedule complications! We'd rather see if we can flex things a bit than not have you join us!

Question

What if it rains on Sunday?

Answer

Well... Maybe we hike in the rain. Or maybe we do some other activity that's indoors. We might have to play that by ear, but if you have suggestions, we're all ears!
