We met at my sister’s wedding, where she decided to play matchmaker and introduced us. What started as a friendly introduction turned into endless conversations, laughter, and the kind of connection you only find once in a lifetime. We didn’t know it then, but that moment would change our lives forever.
Every year, we celebrate our anniversary at Navy Pier, the place where Robbie first asked me to be his girlfriend. Our tradition has always been a ride on the Ferris wheel, so on our 4th anniversary, I thought we were just keeping the tradition alive. When we arrived, the Ferris wheel was closed because of the weather, and I figured our plans were ruined. But Robbie suggested we walk around the pier to “see if another entrance was open.” As we turned the corner, I was completely caught off guard — there was a beautiful setup waiting for us, and before I could even take it all in, Robbie got down on one knee. It was a moment full of surprise, happy tears, and laughter — and it turned our favorite tradition into the start of our next chapter.
Every great love story has a first chapter, and ours began on July 18, 2021, when Robbie asked me to be his girlfriend. With a smile and a certainty that made my heart skip, he told me that one day we would be married — within five years, to be exact. At the time, it felt like a dream, a promise wrapped in hope and possibility. Neither of us could have imagined how perfectly that promise would unfold. Now, exactly five years later, on July 18, 2026, we will stand hand in hand and begin the next chapter — husband and wife. The same date that marked the beginning of our love story will now forever be the day we say “I do.”
