My friend Allison met Rob while out and about one night. They chatted, and she thought (in her own words): “This guy is awesome and I need to befriend him. Hm… Wondering about him and Mila! I think they’d be a perfect match!" Next week Allison and I were going to Punch Bowl Social, so she invited Rob to come along with her… And the rest is history :) Thank you Allison! How else would I possibly meet this awesome guy?! I mean we had to travel thousands miles away from our homes to meet each other... What are the chances?! :)
The minute I met Mila I thought that I really wanted to get to know her. Especially because she was listening to all my work stuff without running away... So I knew - she is a keeper! A day after we met I found her on Facebook, and after she finally added me, we averaged out on 521 messages a day for a week (yes, I pulled the data). After all the texting, we had our first date at Launderette. We couldn't stop talking so we continued to the bars on East 6th. Our first date lasted 8 hours!
We planned a trip to Munich so our parents could meet for the first time. On the last day we went on a road trip in the Alps. It was so nice to have both of our parents with us, that I remember thinking for a minute "If Rob ever proposes it would be cool if he does it with our parents around". And... He did! And nobody knew except for Sam. Even Rob's parents didn't know! It was such a special proposal... Rob made a heart-shaped box out of a piece of wood. I can't believe how much time and thought he put into it: the box had so many little details about our journeys to each other! He chose the most gorgeous spot that we'd seen that day and asked me to marry him. And of course, I said "of course" :)
