They met on the internet. More specifically they met on Hinge. Rob had just stopped teaching (he was an elementary school PE teacher). His friend Patrick convinced him to try online dating (thanks Pat). Mallory had agreed to start using a dating app after her sisters bridal shower in Ohio (thanks mom). Mallory landed in Medford Oregon after that bridal shower and happened to match with Rob while at the Medford airport. He made the first move and started talking to Mallory for a few weeks. They agreed on a first date at a Mexican restaurant. However, Mallory was driving through Medford a day earlier than their planned date and asked Rob to meet her at Common Block Brewing because they were dog friendly and her and the dogs had just been on the coast. Rob had just finished a 12 hour shift at the mill and agreed to meet Mallory anyway. They met and it was love at first sight for Rob (no joke). Mallory was smitten and happy that Poppy and Sage (fur babies) liked Rob. During that first date, Rob decided to ask Mallory the big question, even if she was from Ohio, could she date a Michigan football fan? He was in luck, because Mallory is also a Michigan fan. After that the conversation flowed easily and they shut the restaurant down. The following weeks Rob and Mallory went on dates, he cooked for her and set off the smoke alarm. She showed him around Klamath. Mallory then called her mom and told her "I found the one." Rob proposed on May 24 under the stars on a camping trip to Trinity Lake. Mallory couldn't see him the first time he asked, so she had to turn on a flashlight and Rob proposed a second time. She said yes. As cheesy as it sounds, the rest is history.
