Our love story began in October 2022 with a Tinder match and a message that changed everything: “I have a golden retriever” Rob messaged first, and Lily was immediately hooked. Our first date took place at Lake Arlington, where we talked, laughed and completely lost track of time. What started as a simple walk turned into hours of conversation. By the end of the night, we both knew there was something special here. From there, everything just clicked. We fell in love fast and deeply. Lily was surprisingly nervous to meet Rob’s golden retriever, Maya, knowing how important she was to him, but it didn’t take long before the 3 of us became inseparable. Eventually, we moved in together, with Maya by our side, and started building a life filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of fur. In December 2024, we welcomed our cat Ember, making our little family feel even more complete. Then came the moment that brought everything full circle. Almost 3 years to the day of our first date, Rob made dinner plans with both of our moms “coincidentally” just down the road from Lake Arlington. As we drove past the lake, Lily being Lily, sarcastically pointed “aw throwback to our first date!” To her complete surprise, Rob quickly turned into the parking lot. We stepped out of the car and walked together, just like we did on that very first date. And there, in the place where it all began, Rob got down on one knee and asked Lily to spend forever with him. What began with a swipe and a golden retriever became a love that feels completely meant to be, this is our story. We can’t wait to celebrate with the people we love most!
