We met the old fashion way, an online dating app! After both of us swiped right and connected it took a month for us to both be free to actually meet in person. Kristi gave me a whopping 45 minutes to impress her before her soccer game. Good news was she was a cheap date only having water to drink. The conversation came easy with lots of laughing and an instant connection. What I didn’t know was this was Kristi’s last day on the dating app. Up to that point we had only communicated through the app which meant I would have no way of contacting her if I unknowingly walked away without her number. As we were walking out of the restaurant she asked if I wanted her number. She just realized her 30 day membership ended that night and clearly had to see me again, LOL. I reluctantly took her number and said, yeah maybe I’ll call ya sometime and the rest is history.

We had a cruise planned with friends in June of 2021 that we had to reschedule at the last minute due to a family obligation which put us now going on the cruise just the two of us later in the year. One day it just hit me, what in the world am I waiting on? I’ve found “the one” and now I have the perfect setting to pop the question, a cruise in the caribbean! At sunset on the balcony of our room at sea somewhere between the Bahamas and the Dominican I popped the question and she said, “is this a joke?” She eventually came to her senses and said yes 30 seconds later.
