FAQs

Question

How do I get to Tarrytown?

Answer

Out-of-towners: the NYC metro is served by many airports! Westchester County Airport in White Plains is only twenty minutes from our venue and hotel blocks, and has Chicago flights every hour. It is a small airport and a breeze to travel through. LaGuardia, Newark, and JFK also get you into the NYC metro. You can take a cab ($$) or venture into Manhattan and take the train from Grand Central Station. Those coming from the city: take the Hudson line from Grand Central!

Question

How do I get to Blue Hill?

Answer

There will be shuttles to and from the hotel blocks! If you are traveling from the city, the best option would be to take an uber from the Tarrytown or White Plains train stations.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

It’s black tie optional! Dress up if you like, dress down a little if you’d rather not. If you plan on wearing a wedding dress check with Hannah to make sure it’s not the same dress. We are hoping for beautiful weather, but keep an eye out for the forecast: The ceremony will be outside. The cocktail reception will be indoor/outdoor. The dinner will be indoor. The dancing will be indoor/outdoor. Consider shades for the ceremony if the sun is strong, and a shawl or sweater if it’s chilly .

Question

Did I forget to order my dinner?

Answer

Blue Hill is a sustainable farm-to-table restaurant that will offer our wedding menu a few short weeks before the party, based on what is available on the farm. For this reason, menu preferences are not on the invitation. Any and all dietary restrictions or preferences can and will be accommodated. The waitstaff will speak with each guest before dinner to accommodate any special requests.

Question

Is there childcare?

Answer

From 7:00 PM on we will have a small group of Nannie’s set up in a quiet room at the venue with nap mats. Kids are welcome to crash there when they get burnt out, or stay out on the dance floor!

Question

Is the ceremony unplugged?

Answer

Our ceremony is unplugged. We’d love for you to be fully present with us, so please leave phones and cameras tucked away. We’ve hired a wonderful photographer to capture the mass, and we’ll share photos with you after. Take as many photos as you like during the reception :)
