We met during our first year of law school at the University of Nebraska. Erin bought my friend, Matt, and I a beer when we ran into each other on O Street during our first semester. At that time the beer was nothing more than a friendly gesture on Erin's part, but little did we know that we would be sharing more than beers just months later. We began hanging out with the same people in law school, and as our friend group grew closer after surviving the first semester we did too. While on spring break in Austin, I began telling Carter, Simon, and Josh about my feelings for Erin. Little did I know Carter was a double agent, simultaneously feeding this sensitive information to Erin so she could plot her next moves. When I got back from Texas, Erin texted me and asked if I wanted to see Run The Jewels and Lorde perform in Lincoln. I enthusiastically agreed to go, and Erin told me to "invite whoever." I didn't invite anyone. Neither did Erin. That night we missed the opening act because we were too busy talking before the show. I couldn't tell you one detail about the concert. But I could tell you a million details about Erin from that night: what she wore, how she laughed, the way she danced. I could also tell you about how nervous I was and how my nerves faded after Erin laughed at one of my terrible jokes. Everything felt easy, familiar that night, like we were both exactly where we were supposed to be. Even now as I'm typing, trying to come up with the words to describe how we met, Erin is next to me working on the invites, and we're exactly where we're supposed to be - together. We can't wait to be together with all of you on our wedding day.
