In the early dark days of Covid isolation, Rob and Alyssa connected from their respective couches. Some light-hearted messages became non-stop texting, and things turned pretty serious pretty fast. Rob and Alyssa spent their first month long-distance texting, calling and FaceTiming, with the promise of a first date hanging in the near future. Mayor DeBlasio tried to ruin that by adding North Carolina to the quarantine list, but Rob and Alyssa thought the other was worth the gamble of breaking rules, and they enjoyed a wonderful, albeit rainy, first date at Boucherie - the first of many wonderful, shared meals! Sharing a love of food, travel, and (unbeknownst to Rob at the time...) cats, it was pretty clear from the get go that they'd each found their person. The last three years have flown by in a flash... new jobs, a cat, exciting travel adventures, moving in together, buying a house, more cats, and finally, an unsuspecting hike with the most epic ending ever. The best part of the last nearly four years is that it's just the start of the rest of our lives that we get to spend with each other. A picture from our first date!
