Allison and Rob met at a wedding in August 2014 in Birmingham! Allison saw Rob across the room during the rehearsal and decided she was determined to dance with Rob at the wedding reception the next night! Rob beat her to it, asking her to dance! As it turned out they both lived in the DC area - so Rob took Allison out on a date on H street a few weeks following the wedding. (Rob even drove from DC to Arlington to pick her up for the date!) Five years later, here they are at their own wedding - ready to dance the night away!

Rob knew that the proposal had to combine Allison's two favorite activities - hiking and fine dining. On April 20th, Allison and Rob set up camp in Shenandoah National Park and decided to go on a quick morning hike on Bearfence Trail. Little did Allison know that there was much more planned than a quick morning hike. They began climbing the rock scramble, when Allison grew concerned that Rob kept falling behind. She joked with him that he needed to hit the treadmill and get back into shape, not knowing that Rob was intentionally falling behind so Allison would not notice his nervously shaking hands attempting to get the ring box out of the extra wool socks he had hidden in their backpack. After reaching the summit, Rob got down on one knee and asked Allison to be his wife! Following a minute of shock and disbelief, she said yes and they headed back to pack up camp because Rob had also surprised her with a hotel and dinner reservation at the nearby Inn at Little Washington. They celebrated the special day with a romantic dinner and champagne - still smelling of campfire.
