It’s finally happening! We can’t wait to party!

Hello and welcome! Sarah here. My sweet, funny, and kind fiancé Rob and I have known each other for around 15 years. His younger sister, Dani, is my best friend. I would often be in attendance at family holidays and other gatherings of the SvoJoPro’s. I remember being quiet around Rob (maybe nervous??) but just viewing him as my “best friend’s older brother”. That changed in the summer of 2014 at a Memorial Day barbeque at Patty and Scott’s. Rob and I were beer pong partners and won 6 games in a row. We flirted a little bit throughout the night and honestly, I didn’t think much of it. Before Rob left he asked Dani for my number and we started texting back and forth. Of course I made sure Dani was okay with it before we became anything serious #HoesBeforeBros. Before long, we had a few dates and started spending more and more time together. I found myself quite smitten with Rob and felt a connection far deeper than I had anticipated. It turns out he felt the same way and I officially became his girlfriend on June 3rd, 2014. It was definitely an adjustment for friends and family when we told them due to the age difference and whole “I’m dating my best friend’s older brother” thing…but nonetheless we felt supported and loved from the start by both of our families. That Fall, I went back to UND to continue working toward my nursing degree and Rob stayed in Shakopee. We decided to pursue a long distance relationship and continued to do so for the next five years. It was definitely difficult and trying at times, but we had each other to lean on and got through it together. Eight years, two beagles, and countless date nights later, we are finally tying the knot! Rob popped the question pretending we were doing a fun photoshoot with our friend, (and wedding photographer!) Emily. I am so very excited to continue to build a life with Rob.
