It wasn't too long after they started dating that John knew Melissa was the one. Knowing her love for the beach, John decided to plan a trip to Aruba under the impression that they would be celebrating his birthday there. With the help of her best friend, Diane and coordination with the hotel, they came up with a "tour" that would happen on their second to last day in Aruba....

On October 9th 2020, after having spent a beautiful morning snorkeling and on a catamaran, they headed back to the hotel to get ready for their "tour". After walking up to a secluded beach and having their picture taken by the "tour guides", John bent down on his knee and asked Melissa to spend the rest of her life with him. It was the most romantic and intimate moment, followed by champagne and a beautiful photoshoot throughout Aruba!
