In the summer of 2015, Port Tack Wine & Spirits is where these goofs met. Emily had just graduated with her bachelor's and picked up a job as a sales associate and sommelier within Port Tack. James, (recently back from his Olympic training for speed skating), had just started his career as a volunteer EMT while also managing their beer cooler as a craft beer enthusiast. Living in the same small town area (less than 5 miles from each other) for 20 years, and Jim being homeschooled with Emily at Broadneck High down the street, not once did they ever cross paths until here at Port Tack. The two youngest members on the team dominating consults and rowdy customers together. They say, "Never work with a loved one." Well, these two have always held each other up as a team, no matter what the fight. Through years at the same job and different jobs, they are always willing going above and beyond for each other to help one another be successful. We've all been through the times where it's a 'paycheck-paycheck' kind of month, work has consumed your whole week from each other, or quite literally just 'adult life.' James and Emily have always made time for one another. One of their most important values. These two started their relationship in a small, hometown liquor store (Port Tack Wine & Spirits in Arnold, MD). Trading and making each other CDs with the music they loved (Down With The Shine played everyday), hanging out behind the plaza sharing conversation until 4am (I hope y’all apologized to Mom & Dad haha). Communication (words & feelings) is the foundation of their relationship and we've never met a more determined couple ready to jump in and build from the ground up. Not to mention the most selfless human beings that will put everything on hold to help you in any way. They are the perfect match. When Zac Brown Band said "No, we don't got a lot of money; all we need is love," ...that's the embodiment of Jim and Emily.
