Mel's sister and best friend! Bekah is two years younger than Mel. They went to UCLA together for two years and were able to spend time together when Mel did her gap year in LA. Their relationship is truly cherished! Bekah has her Master's in education and currently teaches physical science at a middle school in LA.
Taylor Kline

Taylor and Mel met during the first week of orientation at UCLA (2013). They lived across the hall from each other and bonded over their pre-med majors and love of vegetarian foods! They both spent their gap years in LA together but separated when Mel went to Duke for medical school and Taylor stayed in LA (USC Keck). Now, Taylor is a second-year general surgery resident at Mt. Siani in NYC. She and Mel were able to spend time together when Mel was in Boston for her intern year!
Julia Isaacson

Julia and Mel met during the first year of medical school at Duke. She and Nicole happened to live in the apartment above Mel! They spent many long days studying, hanging out, getting fun seltzer waters at the grocery store, and talking long COVID walks together. Julia is now a second-year Emergency Medicine resident at Boston Medical Center, only a 15 minute drive from where Mel did her intern year at MGH!

Nicole and Mel met during their first year at Duke Med. Nicole and Julia happened to live in the apartment above Mel! They both remember the first time they saw each other at their apartment gym. Since then, they've made many memories from studying for big exams together, spending Thanksgiving 2022 in Cape Cod, bonding over their love for Peloton, and many more! Nicole is a first-year anesthesia resident at Penn, where she couples matched with her boyfriend, Max.

Mary and Mel met at UCLA when Mel was a sport's medicine intern for UCLA Track and Field. Unfortunately, Mary was injured--but that meant she and Mel got to spend a lot of time together! Their friendship grew and they were room mates for Mel's gap year. Since then, they've made time to visit each other and maintained their friendship through the years. Mary works in the tech industry and lives in Houston, Texas with her boyfriend, Cody and beautiful new puppy, Ruby!
Nayeary Sutlian

Nayeary and Mel met during Mel's gap year. They worked at the front desk at an ophthalmology office together in Beverly Hills. They made many memories that year and had the opportunity to continue to spend time together when Nayeary went to UNC for pharmacy school and Mel went to Duke for medical school. It was special to have a piece of home all the way in North Carolina. Nayeary is now a pharmacist in LA!
Victoria Snow

Victoria and Mel met during Mel's first year at Duke. Victoria started dating her boyfriend, Fabian (and one of Jess's groomsmen), around the same time Mel and Jess started dating. Since then, Victoria and Mel have grown their friendship through countless hangouts with the Duke friend group, pickleball dates, a trip to Mexico, and several other adventures. Victoria is a social worker and lives in Florida with Fabian and their two cute dogs!
West Mozingo

The one and only, West Mozingo. Jess and West have known each other since nearly birth. West lived right down the street, and the two grew closer together as they grew despite going to different high schools.
Fabian Jimenez

Fabian and Jess met while at Duke School of Medicine. They continue to support each other at a distance despite now pursing different surgical specialties. Fabian is currently a cardiothoracic surgical resident at UF.
Nicholas Frisco

Jess and Nicholas (Nick) became close friends while surviving through medical school. Nick is now a ENT resident at Duke (almost as cool as plastic surgery).
Connor Gatton

Connor "Big Money" Gatton is one of Jess's near-lifelong friends. The two met in 6th grade while at School of the Arts. They continue to be friends despite Connor attending USC. He now works at Saleforce as an Automation Specialists, bringing home the big checks and giving credence to his street name.
Andrew Moore

Andrew and Jess became friends through their shared interests at Clemson. They also spent a summer together "saving lives" in Costa Rica. As a true "bro," Andrew is now a orthopedic surgery resident at USF.

Ellison and Jess met at School of the Arts, where they were widely regarding as very handsome and cool. They stayed friends after college and beyond, even serving together at the Mustard Seed (RIP) to make ends meet.

Bret was Jess's first friend in medical school. He is also an internal medicine resident at Duke and a serious gamer. He is truly the glue that holds together the gang formally known as "Subway after Class (TM)."
