FAQs

Question

I've never been to Mexico, have any tips?

Answer

Ask your driver to stop at the supermarket. Get bottled water, alcohol, and pesos from the ATM. Cards and USD are just fine, pesos are just most appreciated and “go further”. Tipping culture is more relaxed than American: 10% is plenty, but you can also make someone’s day with a 20% tip. The minimum wage is $10usd per day. Drinks in tourist areas are practically the same price as at home. It's not frowned upon to bring your own alcohol to the hotel. Bring a thermos cup and ask the bartender for ice! Bottled water is provided, but bring a metal bottle. It's nice to buy some extra water at the supermarket. The ice is safe and not made from tap water. I wouldn't drink the tap water.

Question

¿Quieres practicar hablar español?

Answer

Tourism workers speak English well, just pull up google translate if they don’t. Feel free to practice your Spanish, Mexicans are happy to help you practice!

Question

Is it safe there?

Answer

Tourist areas of Mexico are generally pretty safe, including this one. You’ll probably be on the property the whole weekend, we will have plenty of activities to keep you entertained. I wouldn't go downtown alone after dark. Just hang with us instead!
