Nathan and Brooklyn first met in middle school around 2013. Although they became acquainted during those early years, their friendship began to take shape in high school as their families grew closer through Life Group. While they did not share the same primary circle of friends, they remained connected through their shared involvement in band and youth group. Following Nathan’s graduation and move to Auburn for college, their friendship continued to deepen. In 2020, they shared a coffee date while he was home, though at the time, their relationship did not progress further. In April 2022, Nathan reached out to Brooklyn while he was home for a wedding and invited her to spend time together. Despite having been away on a day trip to the beach, she accepted. That evening, they talked for hours, lingering until midnight. It’s safe to say, the rest was history! They officially began dating on May 25, 2022, and quickly became inseparable throughout the summer. Later that year, Nathan returned to Auburn, bringing a season of long distance that would last over a year and a half. During that time, they faithfully navigated countless miles between Auburn and Chelsea and many tears. It was also during this period that both completed their college education. In December 2023, Nathan returned home full time! Since then, they have spent nearly every day together - attending concerts, traveling to new destinations, beginning their professional careers, and establishing themselves within a church community they deeply cherish. For several years, Brooklyn eagerly anticipated the next step in their journey, often asking Nathan about engagement. He consistently assured her that the proposal would come as a complete surprise—and on March 15, 2026, he fulfilled that promise, proposing at Hargis Christian Camp. Now, they are joyfully preparing for their wedding day while also taking steps toward purchasing their first home. They remain profoundly grateful that the Lord brought them together and look forward to building a life and marriage that reflect His faithfulness and bring Him glory.
