First and foremost, we thank God for being the author of our love story and for matching us perfectly. Without Him, we wouldn’t be. He gets all the honor and glory! He writes the BEST love stories...
We started out being best friends in 10th grade. He was a great friend, always around, and was someone I could depend on. I invited him to church one Easter, where shortly after that, God did a great work in Hector’s life. Fast forward to adulthood, I noticed our friendship began to shift and it was very obvious He liked me, although he never admitted to it lol. After giving him many obvious opportunities to tell me, I ended up finally telling him first. Our first conversation was “Let’s pray for God’s will. And for us to do things the godly and right way.” After prayer, the approval of our Pastor and parents, we began dating. I am so thankful for God’s plan! It is much better than anything I could have created on my own. I thank the Lord for allowing us to have a beautiful & amazing relationship and for keeping us. Hector is the man I’ve always dreamed of marrying and I’m very excited to become his wife on our 5 year anniversary!
Our love story began in the 9th grade. I met Emily through a mutual friend. Although she found me annoying lol, I knew she was THE ONE the moment I laid eyes on her. I didn’t understand it at 14 years old but looking back, I just knew. She carried herself with respect, didn’t hang with the wrong people, and of course, she’s absolutely gorgeous. A couple years later Emily invited me to church where I got saved at 17 years old. God changed my life using her. In 2014, Emily approached me proclaiming her undying love for me (It was a beautiful moment if I say so myself). Of course I proclaimed my undying love for her as well lol. We both agreed to pray before making a decision to be together. After a week, the Lord gave me verses to confirm it all. I asked my pastor for permission and he said yes. My mom and grandma always told me Emily was the one for me and I always said “you’re crazy, she’s just my friend, and she calls me her brother”. Boy was I worse than friend zoned, but clearly that was a lie. The Lord says in Mark 10:9 “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder”. I never thought I would be marrying the woman of my dreams. God knew exactly what I needed. Second to Him, Emily is the best thing that happened to me.
