Located on the western edge of El Paso, Tom Mays is a section of the Franklin Mountains State Park. It is an ideal starting point for exploring El Paso's mountains, with numerous hiking trails, accessing the Aztec caves (~1.5 mile "moderate" hike) and even the summit of N. Franklin Peak (~8 mile "difficult" hike). Mountain biking is also a popular activity throughout the 100 miles of trails in Franklin Mountain State Park.
