Hanna and Lukas were introduced to each other in the Summer of 2018. A mutual friend (shoutout Maggie!) organized a working session for the three of them at the Google Chicago coffee bar. They quickly became friends and eventually started dating in early 2020. Since then, they've traveled the world together, adopted Sylvester (the sweetest tuxedo puff), and become homeowners in Chicago!

In April of 2024, Hanna and Lukas planned a visit to Lilacia Park to see Hanna's favorite flowers. They decided to make a date of it and packed snacks and champagne. When they arrived, they found an alcove off the main area to have a picnic. Unknown to Hanna, Lukas had already scouted out the park a few days before and knew that this was where he wanted to propose. Fast forward a bit, and there, in an alcove surrounded by lilacs, Lukas proposed!
