In the fall of 2020 I, Allison, began working at the Home Depot in Lynchburg. It did not take me long to notice the handsome man working just a few aisles over from me, in the plumbing department. In an effort to be flirty I was constantly making excuses to need his help; lifting heavy boxes, assisting customers, asking questions I definitely already knew the answers to. In late October, I told him I was having kitchen plumbing problems in my apartment and he came to my rescue. One helpful visit turned into another, that turned into another, that turned into another. Eventually my sink was fixed and the helpful visits evolved into our first dates.

For months Andrew had been planning my “Big Birthday Surprise”. All I knew was that we were going somewhere for my birthday. The day before we left, he surprised me by telling me that not only were we going somewhere, but we were flying! So, I packed my bags and headed for Dulles, still not knowing where we were going. After we made it through TSA he finally told me we were flying to Denver, Colorado! I was so surprised! Denver had always been a huge bucket list destination of mine, plus I had never been on a plane before! We spent the weekend exploring the city and the incredible Denver Zoo. I had no idea that there was more in store. We went exploring in the Rockies on our last day. We walked out onto a beautiful overlook and Andrew suggested we take some pictures. One second we are cheesing hard for the camera, and in the blink of an eye he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. A huge “Thank You” to our friend, and groomsman Austin for helping Andrew plan and orchestrate the whole weekend. He truly helped make the weekend so special for both of us.
