When the weather is nice, we like to take picnics out here and enjoy the art. Rita also runs her two mile interval loops around the arboretum's walking path:)

Schedule a tour at the first distillery we toured together. Buffaloe Trace has some unique stories about the history of the distillery that is worth the tour. At the end of the tour, you get samples which include (our favorites) bourbon cream and a bourbon ball. Plus you might get lucky in the gift shop with a rare bourbon find!
Grab a drink and take a tour of one our favorite distillers and outdoor landscapes around Lexington. The seasonal gin is always a good taste. Trust us, the grounds and spirits are worth the quick drive!
Near Matt's condo and right next to downtown, you’ll find two working bourbon distilleries on the historic site, which serves as an anchor for the up-and-coming neighborhood. Plus, the easily walkable area combined with its diverse food, drink, and entertainment offerings makes the Distillery District one of Lexington’s most exciting hotspots. A pizzeria located in the Distillery District on Manchester Street. There are multiple bars around the restaurant along with a Crank & Boom Ice Cream shop that also has the best vegan ice cream in town.
This is hands down our favorite spot in Lexington. It’s a secret garden with the most delicious locally-sourced fresh and vegan-friendly food. We love coming to this secluded treasure for a happy hour with friends while enjoying the shade of the outdoors in the summer.
Greyline Station is Lexington's first public marketplace. We especially like and highly recommend swinging by, "The Local Vegan," "North Lime Coffee & Donuts" (also have vegan doughnuts), "Broomwagon Bikes & Cafe," and "The Breeze Wine Bar."
This is by far our favorite local pizza joint. In addition to being our favorite pizza shop, they serve the best bagels in town on the weekends from 8am-12:00pm. You won’t be upset if you eat breakfast and dinner here! Plus they have vegan options:)
This is our new favorite coffee spot in town and they have more coffee beans to choose from than you could ever imagine.
Another top contender for best bagel shop in town goes to Southland Bagel. (Can you tell we like bagels?) One additional bagel recommendation close to UK’s campus is “Great Bagel” if you want to really compare the bagel scene around Lexington.
One of our favorite breweries in town where we have already celebrated many milestones for new friends in town.
If you need a long-ish run while you're in town (15 miles), check out this paved trail with gorgeous scenic views. It travels all the way to the Kentucky Horse Park!
