Ribeira do Porto
The most iconic view by the riverside, with many restaurants to choose from. You can also book a boat ride on your way down to the river and hop on a traditional wine carrier.
Jardins do Palácio de Cristal
These beautiful gardens are perfect for an afternoon stroll.
Livraria Lello
This is one of the world's oldest bookstores and frequently ranked as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. Many say it was a direct inspiration for J.K. Rowling and her Harry Potter books.
Palácio da Bolsa
The Stock Exchange Palace is a historical building, built in the 19th century by the city's Commercial Association in Neoclassical style. Visit for great, opulent architecture.
Porto Tram, Infante - Passeio Alegre
Line 1 takes you from river to sea, in an authentic ride on one of Porto's iconic trams. The trip is super affordable and not one to miss! There's no better way to get to the beach.
Foz do Douro
Where the river meets the sea, this is a beautiful location that you will reach once you hop off the traditional tram (Electrico). The journey is beautiful, but the destination doesn't fall behind, with stunning beaches and great bars.
Sandeman Museum-Cellar
Is there anything better than wine tasting? Yes - Porto Wine tasting! This is one of the most well-known cellars, which we visited right before our proposal. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!
Serralves Museum
The Serralves Museum is the foremost museum for contemporary art in Portugal, uniquely sited in the grounds of the Serralves Estate, which also comprises a gorgeous Park and a Villa.
Santa Catarina Street
This is the main shopping street. If you're looking for some last minute additions to your outfit, Santa Catarina is your best bet.
Galeria de Paris Street
This street is beautiful during the day, but at night, it comes alive! If you're looking for a fail-proof location to have some drinks (both outside and inside one of the many bars), this is the place to go. Basically considered the town's clubbing epicentre, you can find many other clubs and bars in nearby streets.
Miguel Bombarda Street
The arts block in the Porto city centre owes its name to the dynamics printed by the owners of art galleries, firstly on Rua Miguel Bombarda and later on the adjacent arteries.
FLOW Restaurant & Bar
This is the restaurant where our proposal happened! The food is absolutely delicious and the ambience is divine. Not the cheapest place in town, but if you're feeling fancy, give it a go.
Muu Steakhouse
For the meat-lovers in our life: this is not one to miss! Make sure to book a table with more than 2 weeks in advance, as it is super popular amongst locals and tourists alike.
O Diplomata
Who doesn't love brunch? If you're feeling under the weather after too much partying, this is one of the most popular locations in town for pancakes, açaí bowls and delicious mimosas.
Cruel Restaurant
Cruel's menu, created by Chef Luís Américo, aims to challenge your palate and offer a unique tasting experience. There are three different levels to try: cruel, cautious and fearful. Try one or a mix of all, sharing with others for the a great culinary experience.
Bacalhau Restaurant
For a great riverside dining experience, this is one of our all time favourites. The food is delicious and the view is amazing. If you want to try one of Portugal's more than 100 ways to cook codfish, this is a great choice.
Taberna Dos Mercadores
This is one for the fish lovers. A very small space that is always fully booked (at least 2 weeks prior), this restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is amazing and the peculiar, curvaceous setting makes it even more worth the visit. We couldn't recommend it enough!
Tasquinha Dos Sabores
The best place for "petiscos", or tapas. Each plate is delicious and affordable, plus their sangrias are divine! The interior is also very quirky, with spiderman and a majestic chandelier sharing the same space.
Café Lusitano Bar & Dance Club
A landmark in Porto's LGBTQ+ nightlife, this is a great space for drinks and dancing to the most random playlists you can think of.
Zoom Porto
Another great LGBTQ+ nightclub that stays open until ungodly hours of the morning during the weekend (7am). Also literally around the corner from our wedding venue - perfect for those who don't want the party to end ;-)
Plano B Club
Plano B is a space that hold exhibitions and cultural events, as well as concerts and club nights. With two dancing rooms, you can listen to a variety of music that includes jazz, rock, electronics or experimental music.
Rota Do Chá
If you are looking to unwind after a long night of partying, look no further than this super zen tea house. With the largest menu of teas you've ever seen and a beautiful outdoor seating space, here you can seat in bean bag chairs and enjoy the smells and sounds of nature surrounding you, all with a delightful cup of hot (or cold!) brew.
Bolhão Market
Finger's crossed this market isn't closed for one of its many refurbishments, because there's no visit to Porto without it. Here you'll find everything, from fresh fruit, to beautiful fish, plus you'll experience the beauty of my city's people.
