Kentucky Horse Park
Although a bit further out, this is such a beautiful park to visit. The Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, international equestrian competition venue, and an educational theme park. You can walk around the park, watch events, visit museums, and see famous horses! Aug 31 -Sep 4: Blue Grass Classic Dog Show Sep 1: Battle in the saddle: Teams compete against each other to determine who has the skills and bravery needed to pen a group of cattle in the fastest time.
Keeneland Race Track
Traditional, beauty and world-class Thoroughbreds make Keeneland racing a spectacle to behold. For more than eight decades, the best horses, owners, jockeys and trainers have converged at Keeneland. Sep 2: Experience morning training at this historic racecourse.
Red Mile Horse Racing
Located right near downtown Lexington, this would be a great place to see a horse race! Red Mile Gaming & Racing is the second oldest harness (horse with buggy) track in the world and one of the hottest destinations for entertainment and gaming in Kentucky. Mary Todd Lincoln House
Enjoy some history in Lexington. Mary Todd Lincoln House was the girlhood home of Mary Todd, the future first lady and wife of the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. You can also visit the Henry Clay Estate, Hunt Morgan House, and Waveland State Historic Site!
