Abigail and Joseph met through the unwitting matchmaking of several members of their wedding party. While Abigail felt that their connection was immediate (as did many witnesses of their first meeting), Joseph was a little late to the party. After many hints were dropped, almost a year later, Joseph worked up the nerve to ask Abigail out! From there, things moved very quickly. Many hours of conversation assured the two of them that they shared the same values, love for Jesus, and sense of humor. It was clear that the Lord had brought them together and was at work in their relationship. Over the next year and a half, Joseph and Abigail learned how to make a medium-distance relationship work. Through the many miles driven up and down every major Southern California highway to see each other, they demonstrated their love and commitment. They discovered the joy of cooking together and shared many home-cooked meals. They shared many late nights strolling through Disneyland together, and walked up and down The Strand too many times to count. They spent many long weekends together traveling with family and friends. Quality time in-person and nightly FaceTime calls were key to feeling connected. All of these little moments came together to form a partnership that checked all of the boxes for Abigail and Joseph. On January 11th, 2025, Joseph surprised Abigail at a park in Palos Verdes and asked her to marry him! Abigail eagerly responded, "Obviously, yes!" The surprise continued when Abigail turned around to find their siblings, cousins, and several close friends waiting to celebrate with them. The celebration turned into a full-blown party that evening with more family and friends coming together to share in the love. This beautiful day was the start of a wonderful life together, and Abigail and Joseph are grateful every day that God brought them together!
