Let the celebrations begin!

Our love story began in D.C. on Christmas Day. We met for lunch where Rishi charmed Shruti with flirtatious banter and a romantic walk after, to see the White House Christmas Tree! The weather was perfect, the walk was beautiful. We enjoyed our conversations and sense of humor, and even took silly photos together. Little did we know what the future had in store for us!

We met for a second date in New York City for Valentine's Day weekend. With romance in the air and great conversations, we had fun in the city playing bar games (Rishi even let Shruti win in Connect 4), and visited a quirky museum. We enjoyed each other's spontaneity, love for travel, and fun-loving nature. We thought to ourselves at the time that "Okay, this could go somewhere!"

In March, 2020 the entire world, as we know, shut down! Living in different states, we resorted to a lot of videocalls to continue dating. Not one date was dull and we always enjoyed our time spent together. After things opened up a bit, we were able to see each other again and resume the budding romance.

The day finally arrived when we decided to start our forever. We got engaged when Shruti came down to Maryland from New York. Rishi went down on one knee, proposed to Shruti, asking her to make him the luckiest man by agreeing to spend the rest our lives together. And as we all know, Shruti said "Yes"! The proposal was everything that both of us dreamt of; an intimate setting with a beautiful backdrop and both of us! We will forever cherish this day in our memories!

We got married in a small civil ceremony during the height of the pandemic. It was a blissful day in our lives and was filled with love, thankfully both said "I do" and exchanged rings. Both of us knew that we still wanted to celebrate our love with friends and family and were determined to do so, no one knew when it would be possible. All are relieved that we can finally do so now!
