On Friday, February 4, 2022, Dre and I met at Jay’s Place on Deans Bridge Road through my friend, Luticia Reese. What seemed like an ordinary night turned out to be the start of something truly special. After I got home that night, we talked on the phone for about two hours—even though I had to work the next day in the ILI (COVID) Clinic. From that very first conversation, I knew there was something different about him. The next day, Saturday, February 5, 2022, we went on our first date at Mellow Mushroom in downtown Augusta. We had such a great time that we weren’t ready for the day to end, so we met again later that evening at the Riverwalk. We sat there talking for hours, getting to know each other, laughing, and realizing how naturally everything just fit. From that weekend on, we’ve been together ever since—and I’m so grateful that one introduction turned into a love story.
