Rishan and Jessica “met” during the summer of 2010 through an online dating site. Emailing back and forth for over a period of six months, Rishan wooed Jessica with his eloquent writing while she was in her senior year at college. When Jessica was home on winter break they finally met in person, at the Dulles Town Center Mall. Jessica’s sister Marion acted as their “chaperone”. Rishan and Jessica went on a real date a few days later, playing pool at a local bar in Leesburg. From there the adventure began…

Rishan and Jessica courted for 8 years. During that time, they went on many trips, visited lots of wineries, and shared life's ups and downs. Their many adventures created a special bond between them, and helped them to learn about the intricacies of one another in the most meaningful ways.

In June 2019, Rishan and Jessica went on vacation to Cannon Beach in Oregon with the entire Chaudhry clan. On the last day of the trip, Rishan planned a special hike at Ecola State Park, which culminated at the picturesque Crescent beach. It was late afternoon, and Jessica and Rishan were the only two people on the beach. They explored the length of Crescent Beach, taking lots of photos along the way as they always do. As they got back to the point they started on the beach, Rishan surprised Jessica by wanting to keep walking (LOL) to the other side of the beach again. Reluctantly, Jessica followed, tired from the long trek they’d already been on. Rishan suddenly stopped and pulled a hanky out of his pocket and unwrapped it to show her a beautiful ring. Words were said that, because of the excitement, no one remembers now, but we do know that he finally asked Jessica to marry him. She, of course, said yes!

Rishan and Jessica are so excited to share their life together, and to have you all witness the beginning of their next chapter! They can't wait to celebrate with their family and friends in July!
