The Strip, as it's called, is foodie heaven and is as authentic as it is fun. The one-half square mile shopping district is chock full of ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets and sidewalk vendors. You will also see more Pittsburgh sports gear than you thought possible. We highly recommend grabbing a coffee from one of the many local coffee shops and exploring this area Saturday morning

Consistently named among the top neighborhoods in the U.S., Lawrenceville is a historic neighborhood that has reinvented itself into a boho city center with a hyper creative energy, and lots of nightlife. Butler Street is lined with bars and restaurants, art galleries, and vintage shops. With so much to do, it's easy to spend a really great day in this neighborhood.

Although not technically in Lawrenceville, Fet-Fisk is located right next door in the neighborhood of Bloomfield. Fet-Fisk is a local Nordic restaurant that specializes in small shareable plates. We recommend if you can't get a reservation to just walk in to the bar as there is usually a few seats open and the whole menu is still available for bar seating

One of the most popular restaurants in Lawrenceville, Walter's BBQ is known for the large outdoor seating area and delicious brisket. It can get quite busy on the weekends, but the lines move fast and it is well worth the wait. Do try and get there early if you want to go.

Point State Park sits at the confluence of Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers. The triangular plot of land at the tip of "The Golden Triangle" is a significant place Pittsburgh’s story and the birthplace of our community. The park features beautiful views of the rivers, bridges, and surrounding city as well as some great walking trails.
The Cathedral of Learning, a Pittsburgh landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is the centerpiece of Pitt's main campus in the Oakland neighborhood. The building is open to the public and features 31 unique nationality rooms.
One of the best museum's in Pittsburgh, the Heinz History Museum features exhibits that highlight the history of Pittsburgh and Western PA. As this is our wedding venue, all guests get free access for the wedding weekend. Although some exhibits will be available for viewing during the wedding, we highly recommend going to check out the whole museum. Our personal favorite is the sports exhibits dedicated to the storied history of all Pittsburgh sports
Established in 1893, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is home to one of the oldest flower shows in the world. The 15 acre facility includes a 14 room glasshouse and 23 distinct gardens for guests to explore. Located in Oakland, be sure to check out the surrounding area of Schenley Park, the Cathedral of Learning and the Pitt campus.
This outdoor art studio is definitely the most colorful spot in all of Pittsburgh. Once you enter, a world of incredible art and whimsy is yours to explore. This is a really great spot to take some incredible photos and to just enjoy something very unique to the city. While in the area, be sure to explore the surrounding North Side neighborhood
The National Aviary in Pittsburgh has one of the widest collections of bird species that you’ll find anywhere. Avid bird-watchers will love the place, but even folks like us who aren’t bird experts will enjoy the aviary because it has lots of really unique and fascinating birds, from bald eagles to toucans to flamingos. And of course, there’s a sizable penguin collection, in honor of the five-time Stanley Cup champions who play hockey in this city.
The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is both the largest zoo and the largest aquarium in Pennsylvania and is ranked as one of the top zoos in the country. First opened in 1898, the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is now home to more than 8,000 animals representing over 600 species. Located in Highland Park, the zoo is beautiful to walk around and is a great way to spend a sunny day.
