Some love stories begin with a cute meet and greet or the “we met online” — ours began with a school play, questionable costumes, and both of us completely ignoring each other because of different friend groups. We first met in high school during a play that will probably never be revived, and not because of Eric feeling a wave of embarrassment but more so that the school is closing. Between the singing and endless rehearsals, we never became friends and remained acquaintances. Never knowing we would ever cross each other’s paths again, let’s fast forward to college. Fate gave us a second act. I know you’re thinking aw how cute. They reconnected in college and the rest is history. The answer is wrong! Eric barely gave me the time of day. Funny enough, he doesn’t even remember us going to same college for a short period of time. We remained as acquaintances still just saying hi to each other when time permitted. Chanel transferred schools and attended USF while he continued being a rockstar and in his own bubble. The second encounter was not fate being by our side but more so a nice gentle reminder that not this time but definitely one day. Fast forward, again, to the pandemic. The whole world shut down and fate decided that third times a charm. Eric resurfaced on social media and decided this is it and slid in the DMs. I of course didn’t read the room and almost blew it by casually talking to him about another guys. Thankfully he immediately stopped me and told me he was shooting his shot. Spoiler alert: it worked, he got the girl. From missed cues to real chemistry, our story has always had great timing—eventually. Now we’re writing our best scene yet, and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you!
