Our story

In 2020, we met on Tygerberg Campus. Alita was not very excited to be in Kerkenberg residence but luckily a friend told her about a "cute, blonde guy", that she thinks will be a good match for her.

After meeting this "cute, blonde guy who lives next door", Alita may have left her mug in his car on purpose, for him to break the ice, because we all know the guy should send the first message.

After numerous nights of 7de Laan, Rinus arrived to Alita's door with a picnic basket for the first date - Valentines day! Little did we know Covid was around the corner to spoil the romance.

After 6 months of long video calls and lots of banana bread, and a work permit from Darling Cellars for their newly appointed "junior accountant", (dankie pappa!) we were finally reunited!

On 8 October 2020 Rinus made it official! The next 3 years were filled with a lot of Cape Town adventures.

Graduation celebrations - a fun and yet uncertain time for us as our first year of long-distance was upon us. We went from 10m to 6km to a 1000km. "Distance makes the heart grow fonder - Rinus"

The year in Bloemfontein consisted of a lot of Friends episodes with tannie Carin! Alita survived her first Bloemfontein winter and is now a loyalty member of Bram Fisher (International) Airport!

After Bloemfontein, Alita ended up in Caledon. At least now we could call it "medium distance". (Alita might have only spent 4 weekends in Caledon in total.)

Another graduation, but this time with a lot more excitement for what's to come and a lot of prayers answered! ONS GAAN GEORGE TOE!!

For the first time in 2 years, we only live 800 meters from each other!

And that brings us here! VERLIEF EN VERLOOF! We can not wait for the rest of our lives together! And to spend our special day with all of you!
