We met in classical millennial fairytale fashion, Tinder of course! Though we had mutual friends and followed each other on social media, our first official interaction was through a dating app in Summer of 2020. Our first date was swimming on the Calapooia River in Oregon, setting the stage for constant seeking of adventures through our mutual love of the outdoors.

We got engaged in the most beautiful way! We were in Banff National Park in Alberta, CA at stunning Moraine Lake. We booked a sunrise hike, waking up at 2:30 in the morning before driving an hour, followed by a bus ride and a short trek. We took a seat overlooking the lake and watched as the sun slowly peaked over and began to light up the mountains behind the lake. Nathan distracted Madison, telling her to face towards the lake as he took some photos. Meanwhile, Nathan retrieved the ring and got down on one knee and patiently waited for Madison to turn around and realize what was going on. It was an incredible and beautiful moment and the absolute highlight of both of our lives up to now. The nearby hikers cheered and clapped. After the proposal was over, Maddy's Maid of Honor, Kensi revealed herself behind us after posing as a bystander. In reality, Nathan flew her out to photograph the proposal and capture the amazing moment!
