Think Tuscany in TO. Enjoy the rustic Italian style architecture in the heart of the city. - Seating: First come. first serve. Picnic style dining within the grape vines. Many people bring there own decor (table cloths, etc.) but this isnt absolutetly necessary for the setting - do whats comfortable. - Attire: Come as you are, but many people like to look nice when they come here with friends. This is optional and only a TO vibe consideration. Do as you please. - Parking: Valet usually on weekends. Otherwise, parking can be a bit difficult - if you need, rely on valet. Valet is usually $7.
There are many things around Zuma and Malibu! Zuma is easily accessed by Kanan Road. Things to check out around Zuma include: - Lily's Malibu: Killer breakfast burritos and lunch options. Right off Kanan and a bit before Zuma beach. There is a Sunlife within that plaza if youre feeling bougie.
This is a restaurant within a residential community that offers seafood dining and private pier/beach. Parking is paid at the gate, but once youre able to access, youll have access to the beach as well. Validation at the restaurant!
Can be accessed via Las Virgenes or Kanan road (easiet to take Las Virgenes - you get to pass Pepperdine, if youre interested). - Lines can be long. Peak hours - 1 to 2pm. - Parking can be difficult, the suggestion would be to go outside peak hours for parking (otherwise you will be parking on PCH).
Located not far from Las Virgenes Rd. and Pepperdine University, the Country Mart has many for all - this is a shopping area with access to food options, high fashion shopping, and the beach. Located across from Malibu Lagoon and the famous surf spot, Surfrider Beach (known for its 3 break points within the wave). Nicole and Alec have often gotten lunch at the market and walked through the nature path to the beach. - Limited parking. The earlier the better. - Great spot for lunch, there are many options. - If you feel like surfing, Surfrider is a good learning spot. *Bonus: Nicole's father, Scott, and his brothers, Frank and Robbie, would surf here. They would leave morning donuts for the local homeless man as they surfed the breaks. Barnie the Bicycle Bum will be remembered fondly.
A historic house near the Country Mart and Surfrider Beach. Offers amazing views of Surfrider with gardens to walk.
This is the place that Nicole's father proposed to her mother - he was certain she would throw the ring in the ocean (ask them the story, its funny). The pier is slightly further down PCH than the Country Market. - Malibu Farm & Restaurant is located on the pier (there is Malibu Farm and Malibu Farm Restaurant - the Farm is immediately on the pier and the restaurant is further down the pier). Parking can be hard as there is limited pier parking - the earlier the better. There is street parking as well. Malibu Farm offers vegan and organic options for dinning and breakfast.
Main Street, Ventura has it all! Thrifting, dining, and a pier. Only 30 minutes from Thousand Oaks, you can find Finney's Crafthouse for food and beverage as well as Buffalo Exchange for thrifting. Main Street, Ventura is completely walkable with plenty of paid parking available. The main street is blocked off to traffic which makes it perfect to stoll and peruse. - Finney's Crafthouse: Craft beers with chef crafted food. Located inside an old bank, which gives it an old school feel. - Sal Y Limon: Fine Mexican quisine for a relatively neutral price. - Buffalo Exchange: Best thrifting on Main Street. You will find hidden treasures for a low price. - Snapper Jacks: Great seafood tacos for a good price!
Great for seafood and a stroll. There are seafood restaurants situated on the pier. The pier is down the street from Main Street. You could visit both in the same day, if you would like.
Just down the street from the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Youll find a Barney's Beanery (a fav. of Nicole and Alec's) and many shopping opportunities. The walk is worth it! Nicole and Alec highly reccomend renting bikes to ride down to Venice Beach.
The Santa Monica Pier has much to offer a family! If youre feeling like it, there are games, rides, and entertainment. There is a roller coaster, teacups, and a ferris wheel to enjoy. A Bubba Gump's is also situated on the pier. The pier also has access to the pedestrian path that you can use to get to Venice Beach.
Museum! Has many rotating exhibits with garden's to explore. Cross the 101 S to the 405 S and youll be right there. Youll take a tram up to the Getty to explore their many exhibits and to see LA like never before.
The Getty Villa is situated between Malibu and Santa Monica. Explore sculptures and art across from the Pacific Ocean. Just down PCH with many dining options inbetween. Enjoy the view!
Neptune's Net is next to a worldclass surf spot called County Line. Come here for waves and killer seafood. Can be accessed via Kanan or Westlake Blvd (Westlake is closer but MUCH windier). - Be prepared for limited parking. Come outside peak hours for a better opportunity (11-2pm is peak for lunch and 6-9pm is peak for dinner).
Disneyland can be a trek! If you have the time and a full day, absolutely go for it! Consider early morning traffic (think work commuters and Disney commuters), the earlier the better. Park opens at 8am! Parking might be a nightmare but the magic makes up for it.
Universal is less chaotic than Disney but parking can still be rough. Think Harry Potter world and Mario Cart! Closer than Disney, less crowded! Just as fun!
