WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

Ben & Alison first met at a Friends themed trivia night at the Flying Saucer in Addison, TX. Alison arrived early to secure a table with her friend (now Bridesmaid!) Hannah and was awkwardly avoiding eye contact with the groups of people who were strolling in only to realize, there was no where left to sit and eagerly looking at the extra seats at Hannah & Alison's table. A good looking boy eventually walked up to the table and asked if his group could join forces with the two girls at the table to create a new trivia team. Begrudging, they agreed and much to Alison's introverted surprise, ended up having a great time with the new friends (especially with the boy she was making googly eyes at across the table) even though their team came close to dead last in trivia. (MilkMaster 2000... come on Ben.) Unfortunately, at the end of the night the two groups parted ways and Alison never managed to get the boys phone number. She chalked it up to a good night but must not have been meant to be. Low and behold about a month later, enter the power of modern technology. Ben messaged Alison on a dating app reminding her that they were "Trivia Buddies" and they should try to meet up again. Thank goodness life gave these two a second chance because from that second meeting onward the spark that was there at the trivia night was able to grow and here we are today counting down the days till they are able to make it official and tie the knot. Like Phoebe from Friends said ‘It’s a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You can actually see old lobster couples walkin’ around their tank, ya know, holding claws.’ We should have known, the writing was on the wall from the very first time we met!

On October 15, 2021 Ben took Alison to Lakeside Park in Dallas, Texas under the guise of a date night... at a restaurant they had never been to... that Ben made reservations with out talking to Alison... and he had encouraged her to get her nails done earlier in the week... hmmmmm. Once there, Ben got down on one knee and asked Alison to be his wife. Obviously she said YES! While Alison was a little suspicious that Ben might be about to ask THE question, she had no idea he had secretly conspired to have her best friend, Ashton, and little sister, Emily, fly in from opposite sides of the country to be there to surprise her right after he popped the question. (excellent bush hiding skills ladies!) They then decided to make the short drive to Alison's Mom's house to share the good news with her. Low and behold, when they arrived a group of their closest friends were already waiting for them there to celebrate at a surprise engagement party. It was a whirlwind of an evening in the best way. They couldn't have asked for better way than to soak in the moment surrounded by some of the most important people in their lives.
