The Story of How We Met

Heat causes friction; how the sparks of frustration lit the way to our ’happily ever after.’

November 2017, Peter transferred into the Grafton Costco and he and Tabby did not immediatley hit it off. The short version, goes that he was too energetic for Tabby, and she was too snarky for him. They had mutual friends though and attended many game nights together as they warmed up to each other... it wasn't before long we were talking all night until the sun came up and the rest is history!

The Story of Our Engagement

10.27.21

We knew we were going to get married for a long time before Peter “popped the question.” We would ask each other almost every day, "baby, do you want to marry me," and the other would reply, "is this a proposal?" The summer before they were engaged, Tabby decided she was going to ask Peter to marry her, officially. Tabby enlisted the help of Peter’s friends, trying to find the perfect time and place for this proposal. While Peter had no idea that Tabby was planning this, they looked at ring styles together and continued talks of their future. It was Peter's idea that Tabby would have an emerald ring, his birthstone, and he would wear a sapphire, for her birthstone. October 27th 2021 was an average day. Peter was off of work and cooking dinner for the two while Tabby was on her way home from work. Tabby got home just as Peter finished preparing the meal, and he suggested we would eat in the garage. This isn’t all that odd considering we had made the garage into a multi-functional space, including a seating area where they frequently enjoyed having conversation or watching movies whilst smoking cigars and having a few drinks. Leading the way, Peter opens the door to the garage. It was cleared out of everything but a small bistro table in the center of the room, draped with a dark orange and black cloth, only illuminated by the glow of candles set atop and hanging string lights in the rafters. We poured the wine and enjoyed conversation over our meal. Half way through the meal however, Peter leans back in his chair and says, okay baby I have to ask you something.” Peter paused, and said, "......I, uh, forgot something, can you wait here?" He forgot the ring! When he came back, Peter leaned down to meet Tabby's level and pulled the ring out, asking, "will you marry me?" Tabby obviously answered yes and here we are now!
