It's 2016 and Kelsey was attending Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. Dating apps were the new craze, so her friends persuaded her to download a dating app and that's where it all began. For those who are not too familiar with dating apps, you have to be within a certain distance in order to "match" with another person. Eric was living in Dallas, TX at the time, however, he was visiting his friend Ross in San Antonio the same weekend Kelsey downloaded the app. Kelsey remembers seeing Eric's profile and definitely hoped that he would swipe right on her profile too (Yes, she swiped right first). Later that day, Kelsey received a notification on her phone stating that she had a new match & message on her dating app. It was Eric and his first message was "Howdy!"-- she instantly knew that he was a keeper! They matched in October of 2016, however, they did not have their first date until that December. Eric traveled down to San Antonio and took Kelsey out to dinner on the Riverwalk---and the rest is history. They were long distance for around 6 months and those months were full of Facetime Dates, up to 4 hour phone calls, and spontaneous trips. Then, in order for Kelsey to further her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, she moved to Dallas and attended an university that had a prestigious SLP program (and of course to be in the same city as Eric!). They lived in the Dallas area for around 3 years and now just moved to the Houston area to be closer to family & friends. Eric and Kelsey cannot wait to spend forever with each other!

It's March 18, 2021, & Kelsey and Eric are headed to Kelsey's family ranch in South Texas to celebrate Eric's birthday for the weekend. Well, at least that is what Kelsey thought they were celebrating...Kelsey & Eric's friends arrived at the ranch that Thursday and Friday & the days were full of riding around the ranch, barbecuing, relaxing, and spotting wildlife! On Saturday, March 20th, Eric wakes up at 7 a.m. in order to prepare for one of the biggest days of his life. On the other hand, Kelsey woke up completely clueless on what was about to happen later that day. After breakfast, Kelsey and the girls went on a ride around the ranch while the guys were shooting skeet. When the girls came back to check on the guys, Kelsey noticed that Eric was not with the group. The guys told Kelsey that Eric was behind the trailer. Kelsey walked around the trailer and did not expect to see what she saw. Hundreds of pictures of Eric and her hung from the trees and Eric was standing in the middle of the field holding his hands out. That is when Kelsey knew. Kelsey took Eric's hands and Eric went down on one knee. Eric said, "Kelsey, I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Without hesitation, Kelsey said yes! All of their friends were gathered around and were cheering for the newly engaged couple! The proposal was absolutely perfect & was so special to Kelsey. Eric even surprised Kelsey by inviting her childhood best friends to the ranch to celebrate that day with her. That entire day was everything both Eric & Kelsey ever imagined their proposal to be!
