Jenny and Kyle met in November on Facebook Dating bonding over memories of Dungeons and Dragons and their many mutual acquaintances. They soon had their first date, dinner at On The Border, on December 12th, 2019. It was a chilly day, and they both happened to wear similar-looking overcoats. They hit it off over dinner and decided to see a movie, but when they couldn't find anything interesting, they decided to go for a walk instead. They got to know each other as they walked the nearby mall, amid beautiful winter lights and a colorful fountain. Kyle asked Jenny out over pizza, in a noisy restaurant after work. He was so excited that she said "yes" that he completely forgot the very expensive leftover pizza at the restaurant. He was not terribly upset, because he was too excited to be with Jenny. Shortly afterwards, the pandemic hit, but they found ways to be together. Valentine's Day had a historic Texas freeze, but they organized an online video call and dressed nicely for a remote date. Kyle even tried making sushi, though it did not go very well. Throughout the pandemic, they had numerous video chats, and messaged each other every morning and evening. The jokes and anecdotes from work were nice, but even just to see "good morning" and "good night" every day from Jenny warmed Kyle's heart. He slowly felt himself falling in love with her. Jenny fell in love with Kyle at a mutual friend's birthday party at an arcade. She had asked the group if anyone had lunch, but they were too distracted to get any food. She was very hungry and figured, "Eh, why not? I'm just going to go ahead and eat." Kyle saw what was happening and decided to join her. He wasn't hungry, but he wanted to keep her company, so they both ordered sandwiches at the food court. Jenny could tell that Kyle wasn't hungry because he hardly ate any food, but she was touched by his thoughtfulness. In October of 2021, Kyle had planned an "awkward couples" photo shoot in honor of Jenny's birthday, and he arranged the proposal in advance with the photographer. He proposed with a Ring Pop held in his shaky hands, and she said, "Of course!" As this story is being told, she says she knew this would happen, because she had suggested that they go to a Halloween event after the shoot, and Kyle said that they couldn't because he had a surprise for her. He wouldn't let her know what the surprise was, but his intention was to take her ring shopping afterwards. She figured out pretty quickly that he intended to propose. They both are looking forward to the big day and celebrating with their family!
