We first met as nurses in the Neuro ICU in Dallas; we never really ran into each other at work until the employee Christmas party. I'm sure when she first saw me at the Christmas party she thought "that's one good looking Filipino guy!" After a few months of dates/ bringing her food at work because she woke up late I think I did enough to trick her into becoming my girlfriend. Jokes on her, she's stuck now! All jokes aside, our relationship started to become pretty serious and she quickly became part of my family and very close circle almost immediately. After about 1.5 years of being with each other, in 2019 I decided that I wanted to become a travel nurse, and so I went to Seattle and started to work as a nurse in that wonderful city. People say that long distance in a relationship can easily break it but it only made our bond with each other stronger. With her graduating with her master's and job hunting for her new career and me fighting COVID and getting rocked when I caught it I think we had enough distractions to help keep ourselves occupied to pass the time away from each other. But it was in that year away from her that I knew she was the one for me; she supported this move of mine without ever being mad at me for it even though it was harder for her than she ever showed it. So I started scheming with some of her best friends (who are also my best friends) about proposing to her, her ring size, and what dates would people be available to help me with the surprise. Through all of the planning, my mom created a group chat with all the girls in our group including Rincy, and asked "how does Rincy want to be proposed to?" So all the planning went out the window, the ring had to be bought way sooner, and luckily my friends and I already planned a group Seattle trip because they wanted to visit anyway. There was no better time to do it. So on the side of Mt Rainier at Comet Falls I asked her to be my wife and here we are, the future Mr and Mrs Garcia.
